U14s overcome Donegal Town

Tourish opened the scoring in the first half and then wrapped up the victory with a penalty 5 minutes from time after the visitors had threatened a comeback.

The had started the brighter of the two sides and shaded the first half of a game but Drumoghill took control with a double strike just before half time.

Tourish broke the deadlock on 29 minutes when he gained possession just inside the area and turned neatly to hammer into the top right hand corner.

Before Donegal had a chance to regroup, they found themselves further behind and this time it was Harvey Smyth that found the same top corner after a well worked corner with Sam McElhinney.

Smyth took a short corner with Sam McElhinney, found space on the corner of the penalty area and found the top corner with a brilliant strike to put his side in control.

Drumoghill extended their lead early in the second half when Oisin Tinney found space at the near post and fired home after another set piece to seemingly put the game beyond doubt.

But Donegal had other ideas and started to exploit some complacency with Drumoghill starting to allow them space that wasn't afforded to them earlier in the game, and it was from one lapse that the visitors got one back with 15 minutes to go.

Drumoghill though regained control and forced a late penalty that Tourish despatched expertly to settle the outcome.
