U14: Convoy take the points

Twice coming from behind in the first half, the reds more than matched a physically superior side with great passing and movement.

The visitors took an early lead, but Oisin Tinney equalised with a brilliant free kick from 25 yards to notch his 3rd goal of the season.

Convoy regained the lead, but Tinney turned provider on the stroke of half time when his delivery into the penalty area was glanced into the bottom corner by Jack Meehan.

The second half was a tighter affair with defences on top until a late brace from the visitors eventually settled the contest.

The game had stand out performances from Sam McElhinney, who battled hard all evening, and a special mention to Cillian Martain who stepped up from U12 and stood out with an excellent performing controlling midfield.

Well done both teams and our thanks to Paddy McCauley for officiating.
