U14: Reds lose in Raphoe

Drumoghill did manage to get more into the game as the first half wore on with Sam McElhinney always a threat and Harvey Smyth also unlucky with an excellent turn and strike just before half time that was well saved.

With the game still level at the break, the opening goal was always going to be crucial and it was Raphoe that broke the deadlock through TJ Meehan 10 minutes into the second half.

Ironically, the goal came after Drumoghill had just enjoyed their best period of the game. With Kieran Tourish becoming a lot more prominent, Drumoghill had a number of decent openings but just could not convert their chances and they were made to pay when Raphoe took the lead.

The home side scored again within a few minutes to take control and as Drumoghill went searching for a way back into the game they conceded again in the last minute to make it 3-0.

Well done Raphoe who ran out deserving winners.
