Danny Doherty and Joe McGonigle were also on target in a game in which Drumoghill dominated for large periods, with Cillian Martin catching the eye in midfield with an impressive range of short and long passes that created some excellent openings for those further forward.

Drumoghill though will reflect on a 5 minute period just before half time when they allowed a two goal lead to slip before running out deserved winners with a strong second half performance.

The wet conditions made it difficult for both teams as they struggled to adjust with the ball zipping off the wet surface, but the home side soon found their range with Danny Doherty opening the scoring with a fine left footed effort on 11 minutes after being set up by Sarah Holmes.

Harry Browne repeated the trick with a similar effort 4 minutes later, before Raphoe fought their way back into the game to level the scores just before the half time interval.

Drumoghill through responded in the perfect manner with Harry Browne hammering home from just inside the penalty area to put his side back into the lead on the stroke of half time.

The message at half time was to maintain focus throughout the second half, and they got their rewards when Rhys Hastings struck twice.

Rhys followed up a Danny Doherty effort to make it 4-2 before firing home the goal of the game with an angled drive to put the game beyond the visitors.

Joe McGonigle then put the icing on the cake with only minutes remaining when he raced away to make it 6-2 from an excellent Bethany Goudie through ball.

Well done both sides and credit to Raphoe Town for still playing the game the right way despite the game getting away from them in the second half.
