Drumoghill were held for the first time this season, but showed plenty of character to withstand a brilliant fightback from league leaders Drumbar and secure a precious point in this top of the table clash at The Moss.
Having raced into a 3-0 lead inside the opening 15 minutes, thanks to a brilliant hattrick from Joe McGonigle, Drumoghill looked well on the way to a crucial win before the visitors completed a remarkable comeback.
The result means the visitors retain their 1 point lead at the top with two games to play, but Drumoghill have a game in hand.
Both sides will reflect on this being a game that they could have won, but in the end a draw was a fair result.
On an excellent pitch and in perfect conditions, Drumoghill started the brighter and looked to exploit the spaces that Drumbar were affording them early on.
It was from one such move involving Cillian Martin and James O'Donnell that released Joe McGonigle and he calmly beat the advancing goalkeeper to put his side into the lead after 5 minutes.
4 minutes later, McGonigle was target again when he finished well after being sent clear by Sarah Holmes before completing his hattrick a few minutes later when set up by Bethany Goudie.
Drumbar though soon recovered from Drumoghill's early dominance to get one back just before half time when Daire Sweeney was in the right place to tap home after a free kick had rebounded to him just before half time.
The second half was a much tighter affair with Drumbar enjoying much more possession, but Drumoghill were dealing with them comfortably with Jack Meehan holding things together at the back.
Drumbar further reduced the deficit when they scored again with 15 minutes remaining to set up a frantic finish. As the game approached it's final minute, Drumoghill looked like they had done enough to secure the win but a long ball forward from the visitors created confusion and led to Drumbar grabbing an equaliser.
The reactions from the players at full time suggested that both teams were disappointed not to win, but the result means that it's still all to play for with Drumoghill a point behind the leaders with a game in hand as we approach the final weeks of the season.
