Reds win in Letterbarrow

20 Oct 2024

A battling second half recovery secured another 3 points for the Reds as Drumoghill came from behind to take the honours.

Trailing 2-1 at the interval, Drumoghill needed a fast start and took immediate advantage of a strong wind at the start of the second half to take control.

Liam O'Donnell headed home an equaliser inside the first minute, before Dylan McElhinney put Drumoghill into the lead on 48 minutes with a free kick that sailed into the top corner.

Drumoghill now had control of the game and sealed the outcome when Dylan McElhinney sent Gareth Hamilton to hammer home on 78 minutes.

Letterbarrow did pull a goal back in the final minute, but it was too little too late.

Letterbarrow began the game with the advantage of the elements and took the lead on 17 minutes before Keelin Bogle slallomed his way through the Letterbarrow defence to equalise on 24 minutes.

However the home side regained the lead just before half time to set up Drumoghill's second half recovery.
