Drumoghill no longer have automatic promotion within their own control after this surprise defeat in Horn Head.
Goals in each half from Liam O'Donnell and Karol McGinley as Dunfanaghy secured a battling win in stormy conditions.
Playing with the benefit of a strong breeze in the first half, the home side were enjoying periods of sustained pressure and took the lead through Ciaran Kelly on 23 minutes but Liam O'Donnell equalised 5 minutes later.
Kelly though was on target again 10 minutes later to put his side back in front and it was a lead that they were to hold onto until late in the second half.
Drumoghill dominated the second period but could not force the equaliser that they desparately wanted.
As Drumoghill threw men forward in the final minutes, Dunfanaghy stretched their lead with a goal from a 91st minute counter attack through Shane Doherty.
Karol McGinley did get on the scoresheet in the final minute of injury time to reduce the deficit, but it was too little too late and Dunfanaghy held on for a famous win,
