Reds lose opener

19 Sept 2026

Drumoghill 0-2 Glenea United

Glenea United secured the points in their opening fixture at the Moss thanks to a strong second half performance in which they scored twice through Ronan McGee and Chris Barrett.

After a scoreless first half in which both defences were on top, the first goal was always going to be crucial and it was Glenea that struck first when McGee was in the right place at the right time to fire home beyond

Chris Roulston on 62 minutes. They added a second through Barret shortly afterwards to settle the contest after Drumoghill had come close through Keaton McDaid and Gavin McCarron.

Drumoghill did look the better of the two sides in a tight first half with Jordan Rodgers, Darren Coyle and Shane Duffy all looking threatening but Caolan O’Reilly in goals for the visitors managed to keep them at bay.

Well done both teams and thanks to George Clinton for officiating.
