REDS GO DOWN IN KILDRUM
7 Jun 2026
Our U14 league campaign got off to a tough start against a strong Kildrum team in a high scoring contest in St. Johnston.

After a frantic first half ended with the home side leading 4-3, the game turned midway through the second half after the unlucky Liam O'Brien suffered an injury after making a brilliant save at his near-post.
Drumoghill had to quickly re-organise but were hit with a three quick goals as Kildrum took control and ran out winners.
The home side had started the brighter and took a two goal lead inside the first 15 minutes.
Drumoghill through reduced the defecit when Jamie O'Carroll fired home from the penalty spot after Ryan Glenn was upended inside the penalty area.
Kildrum hit back with two more goals but Drumoghill again reduced the arrears after a well worked free kick saw Kieran Tourish chip home to make it 4-2.
Sam McElhinney then sent Harvey Smyth clear to make it 4-3 just before half time, Smyth finishing well from a narrow angle.
The windy conditions became a bigger challenge for Drumoghill to deal with in the second half as Kildrum extended their lead, before O'Brien's injury turned the tide in the favour of the home team.
Well done both teams and we wish Liam a quick recovery.
