Drumoghill 2-0 Ballybofey United

4 Oct 2025

On a very windy and wet Saturday afternoon Drumoghill welcomed Ballybofey to the moss and made it 2 wins out of 2 at the new O'Donaill Park.

Both teams started well but it was the home side that got and early goal within 5 mins with a good ball sent into Guiliano Matos De Sousa who made no mistake and scored the first goal of the game for the home side.

Ballybofey battled well and had a great chance on 20 mins that forced Drumoghill keeper Gareth Mc Monagle to have a great save with his feet.

Drumoghill kept the pressure on and the hard work payed off. Five minutes before half time ball was drilled into Aaron Donnell who controlled well turned and hit a great shot that beat the Ballybofey keeper in left bottom corner.

This was going to be tough for both sides as the wind was very strong at times and was hard to get any great football played at times with the heavy rain. But second half Ballybofey came out strong and went at it trying to get back into the game.

The next goal was going to critical to both sides as the away side kept pushing.

On 55 mins Ballybofey had a great chance but again Mc Monagle Drumoghill keeper stood strong and managed to get a great save which kept Ballybofey still looking for that goal. Drumoghill defended well with Shane Duffy reading the danger and all of Drumoghill defence playing well and organised.

Ballybofey had another big chance but the defence and Drumoghill keeper was called upon again but held strong.

Drumoghill had a big chance on 75 mins with the Ballybofey keeper saving well. Ballybofey pushed and kept pressure on to the end but was not to be. It was the home side who held on to the end and took all three points.

Great team performance from Drumoghill and Ballybofey.
