Academy Survey Feedback 2025

The club recently invited all parents that registered their children in our under-age academy in 2025 to complete a survey to let us know about their experience.
The survey was intended to validate that the club are delivering on what's important in under-age football and to provide an opportunity for parents to suggest what they felt we could improve.
The FAI coaching pathway for the groups we offered last year (ages 5-12) places a significant emphasis on the importance of ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป, ๐๐ป๐ท๐ผ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฎ ๐ฃ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐บ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐

Children in these age groups do not learn if they do not enjoy the game, nor will they if they are afraid to make a mistake in any pressure situation where there is a perceived expectation to win.
92% felt that their children had improved their capability (0% disagreed, 8% chose not to answer).

As players develop and advance through the age groups, focus will naturally shift towards also having an emphasis on winning. We will continue to apply best practice guidance for all age groups as they advance through U14 and U16 in the years ahead.
