DRUMOGHILL 2-1 RATHMULLEN CELTIC

An injury to one of the Rathmullan players brought this game to a premature conclusion on 77 minutes with Drumoghill leading 2-1.

Referee Thomas Ferry had no option when it was decided that an ambulance would be required, and so brought the game to a halt.

Minutes earlier Rathmullan had just scored to bring them back into the game, after Drumoghill had taken a 2-0 first half lead.

In a game that was played in excellent conditions, Drumoghill controlled the first half and struck twice to take control.

Charlie Shovelin and Leon Doherty were dominating the midfield exchanges and it was Shovelin that would play a key role in putting his team in charge.

He set up the opener for Niall McCrossan to open the scoring on 22 minutes before crossing for Liam O'Donnell to extend the lead on 25 minutes.

However, the visitors cam back in the second half and got themselves back into the game before the unfortunate injury resulted.

We wish the player a speedy recovery and thank the medical response units for their prompt arrival.

Thanks to Thomas Ferry for officiating.
