It has been goals galore when these teams have met in recent times and it was no different at The Moss as Drumoghill and Glenea served up another cracker of a game.

Having drawn 5-5 at Glaserachoo earlier in the season, goals were expected, and goals were delivered.

The visitors though will feel they should have left with all three points. Having raced into an early 2-goal lead and leading 3-2 with only minutes remaining, Glenea will feel they had done enough to win it.
But Mickey Melaugh had other ideas.

He drove him a brilliant equaliser with 4 minutes left and almost won the game in injury time when Matthew Ryde saved his super effort from the edge of the box.

Glenea started the brighter and opened the scoring through Kieran O’Brien after 18 minutes. They doubled their lead soon after through Aaron Darcy when he finished well after good work from Ronan McGee.
The home side though pulled one back through James Gillen but back came Glenea to restore their two-goal cushion after a fine finish from Neil McGeever.

Drumoghill though were never going to give up and they reduced the arrears on 68 minutes when Eunan Kelly beat Daniel Mulhern to finish well beyond the grasp of Ryder.

The visitors almost extended their lead with 8 minutes on the clock when Darcy’s good work down the right hand side set up Michael Ferry who saw his effort rebound back off the crossbar.

Had that effort went in, then the points would have been secure but Drumoghill soon made them regret that miss. Mickey Melaugh picked up a loose ball 30 years from goal, took a stride forward and arrowed a superb strike beyond Ryder to level the scores with a brilliant right footed strike.

Both teams went looking for the winner in the final moments and it was Drumoghill who came closest.

Melaugh swivelled on the edge of the area, evaded the challenge of Tarlach Coll and hammered an effort that looked like it would find the corner of the net. But Matthew Ryder was equal to it, diving to his left to tip the ball around the post and secure a point for his side.
