The club marked a very special occasion earlier this week when we renamed our grounds in honour of a very special person.

Kieran O'Donnell, who has done so much and continues to do so much for the club, had our grounds named after him in recognition of everything that he has done.
Our club grounds will now be known as
Kieran arrived at Drumoghill as a teenager from an area in South West Donegal where the Irish language was used widely, and given that he continues to take every opportunity to use his cupla focla, the club decided to use the Irish version of his name.
Our grounds are so much more than an outlet that provides football and this will become more evident with the plans we have for our new community centre. We wanted to acknowledge this in the new name given how much Kieran values the community within which he resides.
It was fitting that we had Kieran's family and neighbours in attendance for the unveiling, as they know more than most the time and commitment that Kieran invests into our grounds.
We also had Fr. Martin Cunningham in attendance to bless our grounds under it's new name. Our thanks to
Fr. Martin and also to Noel McIntyre on supplying and fitting a beautiful sign that is an example of remarkable craftsmanship. The detail involved really needs to be seen to be appreciated.
Our congratulations to Ciaran for receiving this honour and our thanks again for everything he does.
There is no person that deserves the award more than Kieran and it was the least that all of us at Drumoghill FC could do for him.
We are only too happy to make it happen. It's a small recognition when compared with how much Kieran has done for the club and his community.
PS -some of you may notice that the sign is dated 2024. It has taken this long for an opportunity which didn't arrive until Kieran went on holidays recently. There wasn't a single day in the time since when he hasn't drove through that entrance which made this task difficult.
