Drumoghill 1-3 Kerrykeel 71
Sunday 22nd October
Kerrykeel gave their promotion hopes a major boost with this impressive 3-1 victory over fell hopefuls Drumoghill at The Moss.
Second half strikes from James Kerr and Kevin Loughrey were ultimately the difference in the sides as the visitors came from behind to grab all three points. Niall McCrossan had earlier put the home side into a deserved lead midway through the first half but Gerard McAteer restored parity to leave the scores level at the break.
The second half began with the game swinging from end to end before and Drumoghill will reflect on an opportunity that fell to Lee Smyth early in the second half that proved to be the games turning point. Liam O'Donnell's strike from distance forced a brilliant save from Sean Friel and although Smyth was first to react he was unlucky to see his effort clear the crossbar.
As the game moved into its later stages, Kerrykeel grabbed control thanks to those strikes from Loughery and Kerr and ran out winners.
